Challenge:
This project began at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, presenting major logistical and health-related challenges. Despite limited staffing and shifting protocols, the team maintained deadlines while managing a broad low-voltage scope. The project also required stepping into a leadership role under pressure to coordinate trades and ensure milestone alignment.
Solution:
- Installed Poltys nurse call system for resident safety and centralized monitoring
- Deployed a Panasonic NS1000 phone system across the facility
- Installed OMNIA (now PMTronics) access control hardware and management software
- Set up Fortinet firewall and Ubiquiti mesh Wi-Fi for full-site connectivity
- Terminated structured cabling throughout the building, including MDF/IDF rooms and suite drops
- Integrated wireless locks (Aperio and Sargent by Assa Abloy)
- Installed digital signage, paging speakers, and PMTronics IP camera system indoors and out
Results:
- Provided long-term scalability across nurse call, access, and network infrastructure
- Delivered a fully connected, secure, and modern facility despite pandemic constraints
- Met all network and life safety requirements on time
